The following projects were approved this week:
  • A contract for the 2014 Napa Earthquake Structure repairs was awarded to Ashron Construction to address structural damage to bridges and culverts caused by the August 2014 Napa earthquake. Repairs will be conducted at Old Sonoma Road MPM 2.27, Silverado Trail MPM 1.47, and Silverado Trail MPM 10.64.
  • The Devlin Road Segment F portion of the Devlin Rd. Paving Project was approved, which aims to connect the unincorporated County from Soscol Ferry Road in the north to American Canyon in the south. This segment connects Tower Road to South Kelly Road. The project will prepare the road for the increased traffic anticipated with the opening of Segment E in February of 2020. Funding for this project is provided through SB1 and work to rehabilitate this segment will be performed by County road crews.

  • Re-Appointment of Evy Warshawski to represent Creation of Arts and Culture Opportunities on the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee.
  • Appointment of Brenda Burke and Mary Kaufmann to serve on the Napa/Solano Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council.


This week, we received an update from outside counsel on Napa County’s active participation in the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) proceedings related to PG&E and the 2017 wildfires. Ms. Somogyi, who is Napa County’s special counsel for CPUC matters, reported to the Board on the status of the following three matters: PG&E and their implementation of wildfire mitigation plans, the establishment of rules that will govern PG&E’s practices in regards to PSPS/de-energization events, and the status of the investigation initiated by CPUC to determine PG&E’s responsibility for the 2017 wild fires.
